Monthly Data Transfer Quotas

Each time your site is accessed data is transferred across the Internet, our transfer limits are high, less than 1% of our customers exceed them. Our control panels provide daily updates to show the data transfer you are consuming, and should your predicted figure exceed the quota an email notification will be issued. You can either pay for the additional usage on a pro-rata basis, or upgrade to the next hosting plan.

Domain Name Registration Or Transfer

One domain name can be registered with your hosting plan. This is included at no additional charge. Alternatively if you have a domain registered elsewhere we can assist in transferring it, and taking care of future domain renewals included in the cost of the plan.

You can map as many domains as you like to your hosting plan. They will all display the same website and share the same mail settings. It isn't possible however for you to point domains to specific directories, effectively allowing you to run multiple websites from the one hosting plan. This would require you to purchase a new hosting plan from us. We provide domain registration facilities within your control panel, and you are invited to transfer domains to us, allowing you one control panel interface to manage all your hosting services from the same location.

POP3 Mailboxes

A POP3 mailbox is essentially a password protected area where mail is stored until you are ready to read it using a mail client such as Microsoft Outlook, The Bat! or Thunderbird. You can create a mailbox for each person or department in your organisation.

IMAP Mailboxes [1GB]

This is an extremely powerful way of interacting with your email without the need to store emails locally. Instead all messages are held on our mail platform and can reached using a mail client or webmail. The advantage over regular POP3 is that it will always look the same however you connect to it: messages will retain their status on the server, including their read status, flagging or whether they've been replied to. This is ideal for people that use mail from multiple locations.

Email IMAP mailbox is 1GB in size which should be more than enough for several thousand emails. There is a small charge to customers of £30 per annum per mailbox. Existing POP3 mailboxes can be upgraded (including any existing mail) to IMAP and a 14 day free trial is offered as standard.

SMTP Outbound Email

Authenticated outbound SMTP is provided as standard. In order to use it a user must authenticate a mailbox username and password. This will allow you to send email regardless of your location or ISP.

Auto-Responders

Auto-responders reply to incoming email instantly and automatically. You can set and change the text of the reply and the trigger address whenever you like. Auto-responders are ideal for customer service or informing people when you are away.

Multi-Recipient Addresses

A multi-recipient address enables a single email message to be delivered to multiple POP3 mailboxes or external email addresses within in your organisation. MRAs are ideal for distributing staff bulletins and memos quickly and efficiently.

Unlimited Email Addresses

Configure as many email addresses at your domain name(s) as required. Mail to any address can be sent either to a POP3 mailbox on our server or forwarded to an existing email address elsewhere. Mail sent to an address for which you have not configured a specific destination can be sent to a default location.

Webmail

As well as the ability of reading your mail using your mail client, we also provide you with access to a feature packed webmail for access on the move.

Spam + Virus Filtering

Using a custom built spam filter unique to ICUK, our spam filtering services allows you to configure every aspect of which messages are considered spam. SPAM filtering is available on a per account basis at £30.00 per annum, with a 14 day free trial.

Cron Jobs

Short for 'chronograph', cron is a time scheduling service on UNIX operating systems used to periodically execute commands. Once installed on an account, it is possible to schedule the execution of scripts within an account's webspace at various points throughout the day, month or year. Common website tasks that benefit from time scheduled execution include the expiration of data, sending of emails on specific dates, billing purposes, clearing out log files or caches and generating reports. A small charge of £10+VAT per year allows you to setup 10 Cron Jobs.

Shared and Professional SSL Certificates

Ensure that your customers' data is protected with 128bit encryption to minimise risk to them, and maximise your sales. Shared SSL is provided on an anonymous domain of https://www.securedweb.co.uk/username/.

Alternatively opt for a professional SSL certificate of your own based on your domain name. A static IP address with its own secure server is configured for your site and a 128bit SSL certificate registered for your organisation and installed upon it. Your customers see your organisation's details as the verified site owner when viewing the SSL properties in their browser providing your customers with the ultimate in security and verification.

FrontPage 2003 Extensions

FrontPage 2003 extensions are installed on our web servers. This allows you to take advantage of the dynamic features and publication wizard in Microsoft's web page authoring software. These are provided at no additional cost and can be installed through your control panel.

WAP Server

Serve information to people on the move via Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) enabled devices.

Full Domain Management

Our hosting control panel provides you with full domain management enabling you to register, transfer and configure your domain names at the click of a button. Domain configuration features includes IPS Tag changes, update name servers, update whois, EPP code generation, and domain locking (where applicable).

Password Protected Directories

Restrict access to certain areas of your web site, configure as many usernames and passwords as required. Applications include sites where membership is required to view certain content or the creation of an extranet.

IP Restricted Directories

Raw Log Files

Raw logs can provide customers with a wealth of information about the visitors to their website. They can simply be downloaded via FTP daily. An additional charge of £15 per year is appicable to access raw logs.

Daily Data Backup

Each one of our servers runs a RAID disk failure protection system. In addition, all data is backed up every night to off-site servers. Customers have the ability of backing up all data and databases locally with a single click using their control panel interface.
