This allows you access to the reseller platform which includes wholesale broadband, access to wholesale CPS pricing (for phone calls), wholesale line rental pricing and facilities, telecom tariff and customer management tools, as well as our SMS and Fax solutions.

As a telecom reseller you are effectively operating as your own telco. We are providing you with the facilities and tools to see orders through start to finish whether this be switching phone calls from another carrier, transferring phone lines, or arranging the installation of new lines from scratch. The control panel is fully automated and presents you with the information you need to know need to know.

Telecoms can be a mind field of jargon and complicated procedures which have been built up over time. We have tried as hard as we can to simplify the processed and procedures you need to follow to complete and support your customers. This has only been possible due to the fact we have designed and developed it entirely in-house.

We are providing you access to our own wholesale rates for CPS calls, alongside a powerful billing and tariff management platform. This immediately allows you to compete with the very largest companies based on price without compromising on the quality of the calls (afterall we only use Tier 1 carriers), and without large overheads for billing platforms (which can easily cost in the region of £300-500 per month).

We will invoice you for 20% of the PROFITS you make from your calls. This solution doesn't encroach on your ability to compete on price. It ensures that your success using our platform can also be our success and as such you will continue to receive our full commitment to supporting your business and clients.

Billing & Supporting Customers

5. Billing & Supporting Customers

At the end of the month the statements section of the control panel will confirm to you what you need to invoice your clients for. Our online control panels present your clients with instant access to itemised calls without the need for unnecessary, environmentally unfriendly and expensive printing each month. Instead it should be as simple as raising an invoice for the amounts listed within the 'Statements' section of your control panel.

The reseller is responsible for collecting payments, and any associated debt.

Your customers will contact you as a first line of support. It is your responsibility to provide this to them. Should they have questions you are unable to answer, or faults that require escalation, you can call or email us. All our support is housed in house within the UK. Calls are answered in seconds and emails within minutes.

 

Wholesale Phone Calls (CPS)

In July 2002, the UK Government launched a further stage in the deregulation of the UK telecommunications industry by introducing a new phone service called Carrier Pre-Selection (CPS). The deregulation meant that providers such as ICUK could supply the same services as BT without the loss of service or having to change phone numbers. Using our service calls can be made in the same way you always have done. There is no need to install any new equipment, or dial any prefix numbers.

Unlike some telephony providers we don't produce summaries of calls, instead every call made is itemised and held on file forever. Itemised calls are updated every 24 hours allowing you and your customers to keep a track on the amount they are spending and the calls made. It's a great way to ensure that the risks of abuse are minimised.

Design Your Own Tariffs

Our unique tariff management system allows you to easily design your tariffs in minutes. You are in complete control over the rates you charge your clients for day, evening and weekend calls. We don't dictate your rates at all, afterall you're accessing our own wholesale rates and want to ensure you maximise not only your profitability, but your ability to win new business. Once a tariff has been designed the retail rates are visible via the client control panel.

Quality is key. We will not compromise on the quality of our service, as such we will only use Tier 1 carriers to route our calls throughout the world. This should provide you with confidence with the product you are reselling. Switching phone calls from established companies, such as BT, needn't impact on your customers other than savings.

We don't impose minimum call costs or call connection charges. Instead our pricing model is very simple and clear; You only pay for the time you are on a phone call. If this last a matter of seconds, then you are only billed for a couple of seconds. This principle will immediately differentiate yourself from more established competitors and will save your customers money instantly.

Due to popular demand we have added the ability for resellers to set call connection charges. This device mimics a precedent set by existing telecom companies. Call connection charges can be setup on not only a destination basis (eg UK Local) but the time of day (eg 3 pence for UK Local Day calls, and 1 pence at all other times). This is optional, you don't necessarily have to apply a connection charge if you don't want to.

Search Call Records

This is a powerful interrogation tool designed to allow resellers and your customers extract really specific information from months of itemised phone calls. It is a facility that simply wouldn't be possible using paper based bills. For example, if you wanted to see every time a specific number was dialed over the course of 12 months that cost more than 5 pence you'll have that information in seconds.

Graphical Statistics

To help customers make sense of their calls we provide graphical statistics. On a reseller level they help you identify any strange traffic patterns, but for a customer they can help identify where savings could be made, or anomalies that exist (eg why are calls to premium rate numbers being made?).

Call Alerts

Call Alerts

As a reseller you can set call cost thresholds for your customers. If calls costing more than x pence are generated then an email notification is sent to you letting you know. This can allow you to appear pro-active in response to fraud or unusual traffic. Customers with multiple or unmanned sites have found this to be particularly useful especially if a phone shouldn't be in use.

Export Call Records

As a reseller, or indeed as a customer, you can choose to export your call records in CSV format. These can then be processed through your own billing platform or statistics programs. You can generate these through the control panel, or we can provide FTP facilities to access them.

Invoice & Own Your Own Clients

Unlike other reseller platforms that may pass commissions for the introduction of a new customer, our terms state that the contract is between you and your customer. It is your responsibility to invoice and collect payments from your customers directly. Our panels will clearly show the amount you need to invoice your clients on a month-by-month basis, and the invoice sent needn't be anything other than stating the total cost of the calls. All itemised calls can be supplied to the customer in paperless form via their own client control panel so no need to worry about printing them.

There are two types of transfer methods. We can either complete a like-for-like transfer where the number and all associated line features are switched to our control. There is no disruption or hassle caused to the customer. The alternative is to transfer the line with changes, either adding / removing features (eg call diversion), or converting it from one line type to another (eg PSTN to ISDN2).

This is an extremely powerful and useful tool that allows you to review details about an existing phone line prior to transferring it. Using the CLI (phone number) and the associated post code, you are able to obtain details about the line including its type and associated features. This makes the process of quoting that much simpler.

Find Address & Query Availability

Another powerful tool that allows you to query the Openreach databases. It allow you to obtain address information using limited information. For example, if you have a post code, you can pull up all associated addresses. As a secondary feature you can check on the existence of working or stopped line, and any available capacity associated with said address.

As with carrier pre-select we provide a tariff management platform to aid you with charging your clients. We provide you with wholesale rates for the line rental, although unlike with CPS we don't invoice you for a percentage of the profits - any profits you can generate are all yours. Setting Up and Applying a CPS Tariff
Creating a tariff to assign to a customer, or a group of customers could not be easier. To explain here are the three steps to setting one up:

1. Create a Tariff

Creating a tariff is initially consigned to picking a name to help identify it (eg for a specific customer you could call it "Joe's Rates"), and applying a flat percentage increase for all destinations. The flat percentage is applied to cut down your work load by preventing you deciding on hundreds of destination's rates, especially when you know a particular customer is likely to call only a handful. Alongside the sample destinations we provide you with BT Option 1 pricing, and our wholesale prices for reference to gauge a suitable percentage.

2. Tweak Rates

Once the initial tariff has been created you now have the opportunity to apply tweaks to every destination to help with providing your customer(s) with a competitive or bespoke tariff. This allows you to take into account market forces (eg there is a very small margin available for calls made to mobile phones) as well as providing a more bespoke service (eg a customer is known to call Australia a lot, therefore you can set, and compare you prices to our wholesale and standard BT charges). If it helps you can download this in CSV format, edit each destination, and then upload in the same format.

3. Apply Tariff

Once happy with the tariff you can apply it to as many customers as you like. You are still able to tweak the rates, and these will be reflected next time a billing run is completed. Customers can review the tariff rates assigned to them via their control panels.

ICUK is in a fortunate position in that we are able to provide our resellers with connectivity solutions through a multitude of wholesale carriers including BT Wholesale and Cable & Wireless (C&W). Our BT Wholesale connections are available at all exchanges across the UK. Around 75% of these exchanges are now connected to the 21CN platform which allows you access to ADSL 2+ technologies (speeds upto 24Mbps downstream) and lower wholesale costs from us. For those who can't access 21CN then they will be given the option to connect to the older 20CN broadband connection which utilises ADSL Max technologies with download speeds of upto 8Mbps. We have wholesale broadband connections ready for resell to both business and residential users using a multitude of capped products.

Cable & Wireless LLU Broadband

The Cable and Wireless ADSL 2+ broadband connections bypass large aspects of the BT Wholesale network as they have installed their own equipment within over 1000 exchanges. One of the main benefits of operating in this manner is witnessed in the wholesale cost. We utilise the low wholesale costs and operate them on a fully unlimited / unmetered basis without the need to apply a fair usage policy.

In addition to the benefits of unmetered data transfer policies we also offer free activation / migration offers with the C&W connections on 12 month contracts.

Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC)

Our fibre to cabinet (FTTC) connections are capable of delivering speeds of upto 40Mbps downstream and upto 10Mbps upstream. The high speeds make them ideal for residential users who want to stream TV, movies, or access sites quicker than ever. Likewise, for business customers, the speeds not only help ensure that all staff have super fast broadband access. The higher upload speeds also open up opportunities for resellers to take advantage of, such as offering off-site backup solutions which would have struggled using the slower upload speeds of ADSL.

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

Although not a fully released product, ICUK is taking part in the BT Wholesale / BT Openreach trials for Fibre to the Premises. This technology will be able to deliver download speeds of upto 110Mbps and upload speeds of upto 30Mbps. It will deliver leased line speeds to businesses at a fraction of the cost. We will ensure that as soon as the product reaches the end of the trial period it is readily available to purchase, where available, for your clients.

 
Peak and Off-Peak Data Usage Allowance

All our BT Wholesale packages are capped for the simple reason we don't want to sell solutions which are artificially limited and ladened with small print. The data usage caps apply to usage between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Outside of these hours traffic is treated as 'off-peak' and is subject to a fair usage policy of 100GB per month regardless of the month cap selected.

Upload usage doesn't count towards the data usage caps. This applies to all usage through out the day regardless of the package selected.

White Label Realm - interdsl.co.uk

1 Month Contract

Unlike most ISP's we do not believe in fancy gimmicks or long term contracts. This is reflected in ICUK's own broadband services, and in our reseller. Therefore the minimum contract length you can apply to all customers is 1 month. There are no strings attached or penalty clauses.

Static IPs

Static IP Addresses

You can assign Static IP addresses to each and every xDSL connection easily using our IP allocation pool. Should you no longer require them they can be easily be removed just as easily as they were added, and the connection is restored to a dynamic one. Routed IP addresses (4, 8 and 16) are also available and controlled in the same manner.

 
Walled Garden

Walled Garden

Non-paying customers beware! Walled garden allows you to point all customers traffic to a specific IP and page. This page can contain details why they are viewing this page and how to get in contact with you. This can be easily added and removed.

Speed Limiting

Speed Limiting

Non-paying customers, or those who abuse their connections, can have their speeds reduced to a crawl. This can be useful in non-paying situations where cutting off the customers connection wouldn't help matters. The speed changes can be seen instantly.

 
Ban

Ban Customer

The ban facility is ideal for non-paying customers whose connection is effectively suspended. It first of all terminates the session, and any further authentication attempts to the radius servers are refused.

Should you require your customers connection to be reset you can force this to happen using the Terminate facility.

 
Modify

Modify Connection

The modify function allows you to change the speed and data cap for a customers connection. For example, you could upgrade a customers ADSL Max profile to a ADSL 2+ connection for a one-off regrade fee. Similarly you can change their data cap from 20GB to 5GB.

MAC Code

MAC Code

Should you need to release a customer, at anytime, you are free to issue MAC codes. You don't need to contact us, you don't need to wait days to release them, and we don't charge you to access them. It's fully automated, and issued MAC codes last for 30 days.

 
Cease

Cease

If the xDSL connection is no longer required the cease function allows you to cancel the connection. You don't have to wait 30 days, the cease is provided to BT and this can typically take 5 days to take effect. There are no penalty charges or minimum contract lengths.

White Label Realm - interdsl.co.uk

White Label Realm

Similar to our white label name of interdns for our hosting reseller services, we use interdsl.co.uk for our ADSL services. This realm is used for your clients ADSL usernames (user@interdsl.co.uk) and for reverse DNS. Custom reverse DNS records can be set by request on a per user basis.

Custom Realm

Large resellers with in excess of 100 connections are welcome to apply for their own realm. This will provide a greater branded experience to the end user without being concerned with the generic white label option. However, it should be stressed that the customer only interacts with the realm upon setting up their router.

Reverse DNS Management

Using our control panel you can easily see the static and routed IP addresses that have been assigned to a customers broadband connection. Once assigned you can easily amend the reverse DNS records yourself without the need to raise support cases to us to apply them. This applies to both our IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

 
Enhanced Care Broadband

Enhanced Care

Broadband Enhanced Care offers a four hour response to reported faults and a Service Level Guarantee that an End User Access fault will be cleared within 20 clock hours of the service provider reporting it to the Service Management Centre (SMC). To achieve this, BT will ensure that engineers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to repair any End User Access fault covered by this product, providing that unrestricted access to the End User's premises is available.

This is an additional extra which can be added to any BT Wholesale based ADSL or SDSL connection.

Our unique hosting and xDSL XML API (Application Programming Interface) provides our resellers an easy and highly powerful way of interfacing with our servers. Our Fax to Email service eliminates the daily hike to the fax machine for all workers. Each worker can have their own individual fax number for faxes to arrive to their desktop, thus eliminating the costs associated with having a fax line including line rental, ink and paper. Your own dedicated number allows you to receive faxes sent to your mail client as a PDF attachment, and to reply sending a fax is as simple as sending an email.

Telecom Reseller Subscription Charges

Our telecom reseller platform gives you full access to our billing systems to allow you to create tariffs, assign them to your customers, and provide them with full itemised billing every month. It is then up to you, the reseller, to invoice them for the amount shown, and collect the owed amounts.

IMPORTANT PRICING DETAILS
Our reseller pricing is made up of two parts. A subscription, and a profit share solution. We have designed this system to be as fair as possible to our resellers and to allow them full access to our own wholesale rates without applying a hidden surcharges to all destinations. Read the 'How it Works' tab for more details.

Profit Split (CPS Calls Only)

In addition to the subscription costs we employ a commission split policy which ultimately sees resellers benefit from higher levels of profit. Resellers keep 80% of the profit made on the calls their clients make. It is up to the reseller to collect the monies owed, and ICUK will invoice you our wholesale charges for those calls, plus the 20% of the gross profit you have made that month from CPS phone calls.

Profit split only applies to CPS services and doesn't include WLR, ADSL or SMS services

Credit Checks

Owing to the credit risks associated with wholesale phone calls and line rental it is now mandatory for credit checks to be completed. We will need ID to be provided and a deposit may be required. The size of the deposit will be keep as small as possible, and is variable depending on the credit checks we complete.
